The Barbasol Championship, a paying tournament for the North American Golf Tour (PGA), was interrupted for three hours by a violent thunderstorm and the second round was suspended at nightfall on Friday at Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville (Kentucky). The second round will continue on Saturday morning, with 76 players unable to complete their course before dusk.
At the time of the interruption, the Canadian Adam Svensson remained in the lead of the tournament with a total score of 129, or 15 under par. Frenchman Robin Roussel and Americans Mark Hubbard and Brandon Hagy tied for second place three strokes behind the Canadian.
For the first time, the Barbasol Championship is part of the American PGA and European DP World Tour, just like the Scottish Open which started on Thursday and which is attended by most of the best players in the world before the start of the British Open, the next week in St Andrews.
