It is an event for the Avenir Sportif de Gouzon, the town’s football club. And even “a revolution” for Jean-Michel Massias, its president. A synthetic football pitch should indeed emerge from the ground within a few months, end of January 2023 behind the main ground of the municipal stadium.
The second synthetic field of the department
It is only the second synthetic football pitch in Creuse, after that of the Entente Sportive Guérétoise at the Cher du Prat stadium in Guéret. A new welcome equipment in a department poor in sports infrastructure. “Everyone is waiting for him at the club, and not only“according to President Jean-Michel Massias.”We are too late compared to the other departments in Creuse“.
I don’t see why young athletes shouldn’t have the right to have infrastructure worthy of the name to express themselves, quite simply because we live in Creuse” – Jean-Michel Massias, president of the Sports Future of Gouzon.
Once the work is completed, the synthetic football pitch will be used all year round for some 300 members of the Avenir Sportif de Gouzon, for training and for matches. It could also be used for other sports associations, as well as for field trips to schools and colleges in the region.
As for the overall cost of the work, it is estimated around of 800,000 euros. A substantial sum, supported up to 80% by subsidies. The town hall of Gouzon, it should pay nearly 160,000 euros for the work.
