A wheelchair tennis tournament in Feucherolles

This Thursday begins the international tournament of tennis-wheelchair of Feucherolles. An event organized by the Yvelines Tennis Committee.

The Yvelines tennis committee is organising, from 24 to 27 November, in Feucherolles, its first international wheelchair tennis tournament, integrated into the calendar of the International Federation. This event, organized by the Yvelines Tennis Committee, brings together 16 participants, including five French. The Habs present are Pauline Déroulède, Olivier Langlois, Anthony Boclé, Guilhem Laget and Geoffrey Jaziak. Various participants from other countries such as India, Nigeria, the United States and Sweden will also be present.

This tournament will allow many players to be able to gauge themselves a little less than two years from the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Above all, this once again shows the investment of Yvelines in disabled sport. After hosting the Deaf Judo World Cup in October 2021 in Versailles, the International Para-Table Tennis Open in Voisins-le-Bretonneux in November 2021 then in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines last May, the department located in the west of Paris stands out as an important player in this practice.

An important competition

This international wheelchair tennis tournament is a great way for participants to end the season, but also to take part in a new international tournament. Seeing a para-sports world event in the Yvelines is therefore a source of pride for the president of the department’s tennis committee.

“It was important to be able to organize such a tournament in Ile-de-France. A date became available in the international calendar and we did not hesitate to apply for the organization. This tournament will allow French players to compete with the best. The preparation for the 2024 Olympics continues at the Yvelines committee by putting Pauline, Olivier and Anthony in the best conditions to be able to participate.admits Francis Eveillard, president of the Yvelines Tennis Committee to our colleagues from 78News. The tournament ends this Sunday.
