Al-Khelaïfi’s warning about the “magical” cash flow from clubs like Barça

During the general assembly of the ECA (European Club Association) on Friday, the president of the body and of PSG Nasser Al-Khelaïfi issued a warning about the “magical” contributions of money. Without naming him, he is most likely Barça.

Without naming FC Barcelona, which animated the transfer window thanks to its various economic levers (sales of TV rights and related companies), Nasser Al-Khelaïfi took advantage this Friday of a general meeting of the European Club Association (ECA ) to issue a warning about “magical” cash inflows.

“We have to be careful. Dangerous levels of debt and magical equity operations are not a sustainable path. We have to think long term, not short term,” warned the PSG president, who is also President of ECA.

A positive development

Before this little sentence, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi extolled the merits of the “new rules of financial viability” to come: “They constitute a positive development. These rules make it possible to control costs. They encourage investments and new investors. They contribute to ensure the sustainability of football”.
