Bagnac-sur-Cele. End of season clap for tennis

After two weeks of fiery competition, the 33rd adult tournament of the Bagnac Tennis Club ended on Saturday August 6th. With 80 participants, for as many matches organized most of the time in the evening given the heat wave, the number of registered players was up slightly compared to the last edition, which was already very satisfactory. As often in recent years, the Aveyronnais particularly shone on the courts of the Castors stadium, winning three of the four highly contested finals: Joséphine Renaud of Firmi-Decazeville TC opened the ball by winning the ladies’ tournament for her first participation, after her victory in two opposed sets (7-5, 6-4) against Figeacoise Pauline Caors. She was imitated a few hours later by her club mate Gilles Kintzinger, who won the men’s over 45 final against Philippe Calmejane, after having been down 5-2 in the third set (final score 6-1 , 2-6, 7-5). In the over 35s category, Florian Juin from TC Figeac beat Jérémie Bloess 6-1, 6-3 in the final. Finally, the final of the men’s main draw opposed Maxime Malbert to Capdenacois Léo Cazor: despite the very attached semi-final he had played the same morning, the latter finally won again in three sets (6-4, 4- 6, 6-3), after a fight lasting more than two hours. He brilliantly recovered the City of Bagnac trophy which he had lost last year in the final. The cup was presented by the president of the TCB during the awards ceremony, after a speech of thanks to all the participants, the town hall, the sponsors and the volunteers who organized this successful tournament. It brings the Bagnac club’s sporting season to a close in fine fashion, which will return to business in September for the start of the tennis school and the start of the autumn team competitions.
