There was a great atmosphere and a lot of people on Saturday morning at the three stadiums in the city. The Pyrenees stadium hosted the start of the PLM XV rugby school in the annex stadium, and its director, Gérard Guari, did not hide his satisfaction: “The substantive work of PLM XV continues, forums, discovery mornings, Interventions in schools throughout the sector, at the leisure center of the community of communes, are bearing fruit. For this start of the school year, our workforce has already doubled. We will be in Montreal next Saturday (Editor’s note: this Saturday, September 24 at 10:30 a.m.) and we will have the arrival of a big name in the oval ball, Laurent Labit, the former coach of CO Castrais, who is part of the staff of the XV of France. What happiness for the children and for the staff !”.
Right next to it, on the main pitch, and also on the Saint-Exupéry stadium, it is the young footballers born in 2012 and 2013 (the Under 11s) who, on the initiative of the Aude District of Football, were summoned for the national welcome day. A total of 13 teams from the sector attended, including two from the GFPLM. Each team played three games before meeting over a snack.
Championships: full for PLM XV, football and hand empty-handed!
PLM XV was on Catalan soil (in Cabestany) on Sunday afternoon for the first day of the championship. They came back with an improved victory with a score of 39 to 14! From the start, he cut a few approximations there, which allowed the locals to score a try which they transformed. Stung, our representatives reacted on the engagement and reduced the gap with a try from Cahusac. They had the advantage towards the middle of the first period with sensitivity from Andrieu. Much stronger in front, the men of President Billard sent the game and entertained the public. Esquirol scored a try before the whistled break on the score from 13 to 7 for PLM, then it was the opening half Labatut who made a festival at the conclusion of four tries (including two converted by Delgado), against only one cashed!
Handball. It was the recovery for the Under 15s who play at the highest regional level and they lost 17-42 to the neighbors of Palaja / Carcassonne.
Soccer. D1. Naurouze/Labastide 2 – Bram 1. The Bramais were victims of the euphoric start of the locals who took a comfortable lead (2-0) in less than 10 minutes. Diligent, they took control of the game for the rest of the game but came up against a well-organised defence. Several free kicks were whistled in their favor and, on one of them, struck by Verger, the ball going into the net was deflected with the hand by a local defender. The penalty whistled by the referee was transformed by Duquesnoy. In the second period, the “Blues” pushed but on a gross fault of one of theirs, they found themselves at 10 against 11 to end the match. This does not prevent them from keeping the monopoly of the ball without however obtaining big chances, if not a ball sent on the crossbar by Fournier, then a duel of the same player lost against the goalkeeper.
D3. FC Cougaing 2 – Bram II 0. Logical defeat against a good local team which should play the leading roles in the pool.
D4. Mas Ste Puelles II 3 – Bram III 1. Difficult start to the match, but a good reaction from Bramais who tied the game in the 2nd period. But by Jean-Baptiste Renaud.
Hobbies. Bram 1 – FC Trapel 1. A great reunion for the leisure section of the ASB with a match and post-match as we like: in an excellent spirit and very friendly!
