Women’s League (4th day). Nice – Brest BH, this Wednesday (8:30 p.m.)
After the defeat in the Champions League against Bucharest, the second in two matches on the European scene, Brest Bretagne Handball continues this Wednesday in the league, in Nice. In the Women’s League, the Finisteriennes are undefeated (three wins). For this 4th day, the Brest staff decided to rotate before a new trip, Saturday, in the Champions League, to Ferencvaros (Hungary). This Wednesday, executives Pauletta Foppa, Coralie Lassource, Pauline Coatanéa and Helene Fauske (the BBH must do without at least one foreigner in each Women’s League match), all operational, will not make the trip to the Côte d’ Azure.
“It’s the complexity of managing a large group”
While the BBH is faced with a frantic pace, Pablo Morel will have to make decisions within a group where all positions have been tripled. “In the Champions League, 16 is and there is no constraint from foreigners. In the league, we are 14 and there is this constraint, so the game sheet is necessarily different, ”says the Brest coach.
However, two options are available to him in the league: to play those who have the least playing time, or to give confidence to the executives for the European games. “You have to find automatisms to be better at FTC on Saturday. And we will also have to involve girls who have played the least. If some, in October-November, have not set foot on the ground, it will be difficult to solicit them when everything is going to accelerate. It is the complexity of managing a large group with very high objectives”.
Add to that a championship with a new format (regular season without play-offs), which gives even less room for error. “It adds a bit of pressure. But the error would be to be crispy by the stake and to be afraid to make turn, whereas one has confidence in the girls which one recruited .
