The COP XV rugby school restarted at the beginning of September.
Every Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., a whole team of educators welcomes children from the age of 3 on the beautiful facilities of Régadous. “We have made great efforts in training for several years and we continue to invest so that children can flourish in complete safety”, announces President Claude Margnac from the outset.
The club’s efforts and investments have focused in particular on the training of educators. “The practice of sport must be adapted to each age category. We have more than 10 qualified educators with specialties according to age. We thus confirm a federal “baby rugby” patent. Benoît Boursinhac holds the State patent which guarantees very high quality supervision. The head of the rugby school, Karine Prioud-Prion is also responsible at the departmental level for babies”. We will understand better then that very high level players (Asia Khalfaoui, member of the French women’s team and several professional players) will come from the rugby school of Pont-du-Casse.
Towards a spring tournament
The COP XV welcomes this year more than 90 children and has entered teams in departmental competitions in U6, U8, U10, U12 and U14 between 15 and 20 children per age category who will participate in either championships, tournaments and departmental gatherings . “We may have a large team of educators, they will be very busy…”, says the president, happy with the success of his rugby school. This year, the COP XV would like to relaunch the “Crayssac tournament” which was played in September. “It is no longer authorized to organize youth tournaments at the very beginning of the season. We will schedule them after the spring”. The Cassipontin club therefore knows how to take advantage of the current enthusiasm for rugby due, in part, to the good results of the French teams and the approach of the World Cup on our soil.
In any case, parents and children met for the first time in Régadous on Sunday September 25 for the first match of the COP XV in Fédérale 3 (highest level reached by this club since its creation 47 years ago) which will welcome the Moissac team that day. Have a good season everyone!
