After a fight between players at the end of the Châton Cup match on Sunday, FC Kerchopine (Cléguer) did not wish to resume against Lorient Folclo, whose coach Eli Kroupi resigned.
“After numerous disagreements within the section, but also with Folclo Omnisports, the main members of the office, appointed at the start of the 2022-2023 season, namely Daniel Hervieu (president), Chafik H’Bila (vice-president) and Bernard Gourmelen (secretary), submitted their broadcasts to the president of Folclo Omnisports, on Thursday November 10, 2022.
Similarly, the coach of the senior teams Eli Kroupi resigned in stride, Friday, November 11, “said the football section of the Lorient club on Monday. “These different people cannot therefore be affected by the problems that occurred during the Châton cup meeting, between FC Kerchopine and Folclo Lorient”, specifies the press release.
Five yellow and three red cards
Sunday’s match could not be completed. The fourth yellow card designated by Foclo in the 80th minute (after a first for Kerchopine) “raised the pressure” between the two teams, testifies Jérôme Yhuel, president of FC Kerchopine (Cléguer). There followed an altercation between two players, before a member of Folclo came out of the bench to get involved. The referee then punished the three protagonists with red cards, separated by their teammates.
“We were down 3-1, so we preferred to leave it at that,” explains Jérôme Yhuel. FC Kerchopine should lose the match on forfeit. The club had eliminated Folclo on penalties in the Coupe de France, which did not please the Lorient supporters. The two teams play in the same D1 group and have not yet met in the league.
