Decazeville Rugby. At stake: a first victory for Sporting

the essential
For this last match of the first block and before a weekend of rest, Sporting receives Causse Vézère, crowned with two victories in two games.

The opponents of Sporting tomorrow finished, last year, 6th in pool 8 dominated by Sarlat. This season, the “green and blue” have succeeded on the hats with two wins in two games. Many points to their credit (65) but almost as many to their debit (59); tries scored (6) but also conceded (7) which denote a team that is certainly playful but fragile in defense. A data surely checked by the Aveyronnais staff. After a calm off-season, very few departures and few arrivals but of quality, the group knows each other well and is in 4th place, 1 point behind the first Cahors and Belvès.

Their first trip ended with a victory at Vichy then a victory at home against Riom. The Decazevillois will face tomorrow a Corrèze formation in full confidence and impatient to continue in this way.

“Press Conquest”

Rouquette and his teammates are therefore warned. We will have to keep this desire seen against LSA and Cahors by raising the level of play even further. This is what Anthony Julian announces: “we have little information on them except that they have made a big recruitment a bit like Cahors. It’s good for them. We are going to try to progress after LSA and Cahors and try to raise our level of play without worrying about the opponent. We’re going to do everything to win this match. We will have to keep the ball and press on the conquest “
Faced with Lévézou, it deserved a better fate without this little lack of control at the last minute.

In Cahors, the group has nothing to be ashamed of and the defensive bonus brings hope. The logical progression would be a victory against Causse Vézère, which Tim Bowker confirms. “We need to win this match. Against Lévézou, we came very close, but there it is mandatory and we have to confirm the Cahors match. Since the start and two good performances, we absolutely have to confirm Sunday with the victory .”

The same group and returns

The coaches announce the same group to which are added the absentees from Cahors: J. Accorsi and A. Falgayrat due to work, R. Vidal who, injured in the ankle, should be fit. Released during the match in Cahors, R. Barascud (fingers) and A. Pisano (nose), will be operational.
With the exception of Boris Lac (see our Tuesday edition), the group is full pending the return of the 2 long-term injuries Lozano and Vabret.
