Echoes of the Montéchois Rugby “Poppies”

For this first day of the regional 1 championship, the co-presidents Stéphane Pinasseau and Laurent Ginestet had insisted on a perfect organization and this was the case.

First of all, they had asked the chef of the Bistrot Constant Christophe Marque to concoct an extraordinary pre-match meal and the result was there.

The 200 or so guests left the table licking their chops to go and support their teams playing against Racing-Club Montauban.

If the players of captain Clément Ourliac managed to win against their neighbors Montalbanais, it was difficult, but only victory counts and it was there.

This match will however have left traces on both sides with, for the Montéchois, the injuries of Anthony Emboulas, Rémy Nobilet and Khader Boudoya.

Reservists lead the way

As a curtain lever, team 2 of captain Gaëtan Ferrié won with a score of 12 to 3 in a match without a try, with 4 penalties from Ferrié against one from Lescure for Racing.

The Montéchois made a good copy and also showed that they will have to be counted on in this competition.

They played : Stéphane Cedré, Anthony Jean, Michaël Salesses, Nicolas Chambon, Angel Sanders, Yoan Bellens, Thomas Jean, Paul Joly, Corentin Andreis, Gaëtan Ferrié, Clément Carlin, Thibaut Large, Benjamin de Raed, Nicolas Schwartz, Kevin Oscurt, Mathéo Vasseur, Romain Badens, Romain Charry, Florian Louage, Paul Descazeaux, Jonathan Pospisil, Nicolas Berrié. Coaches: Christophe Ferrié and Jeff Caussé.

We note that the kickoff of the meeting was given by Nicolas Collignon, director of Leroy Merlin in Montauban and partner of the Montecho club, in the presence of Michel Ruamps, president of the departmental committee of 82.

The “Poppies” give you an appointment next Sunday with the reception of Gourdon (Lot), but we will come back to this.
