EPCR is pleased to announce that Kappa will prove to be the Official Technical Partner of the Champions Cup and the EPCR Challenge Cup for three more years, until the end of the 2024/2025 season.
The famous Italian brand has been supplying match officials’ clothing since 2019, as well as clothing for EPCR staff. This agreement is extended at a pivotal period for the tournaments with the historic integration of the main South African clubs.
François Vergnol, Marketing and Commercial Director of EPCR, said: “We are delighted to continue our association with Kappa which is one of the leading brands of sportswear and lifestyle worldwide, and to see our match officials equipped with the highest quality uniforms”.
“This significant extension of the contractual partnership is another indication that EPCR continues to be an attractive proposition for global brands and reflects well on the status of our tournaments.”
Rémi Garnier, Marketing and Commercial Director of Kappa, commented: “We are delighted to continue this adventure with the EPCR which began in 2019. It strengthens our position as a major rugby equipment supplier in Europe. The arrival of the South African teams this season will give Kappa even more visibility and we are proud to be part of this historic development”.
EPCR tournaments will expand their reach with several television deals for the new cycle, including the signing of SuperSport as the exclusive broadcaster in South Africa, alongside the historic integration of DHL Stormers, Vodacom Bulls, Cell C Sharks , Emirates Lions and Toyota Cheetahs from this season.
EPCR has also entered into a multi-year partnership with the streaming platform FloSports, as the exclusive broadcaster of its tournaments in the United States.
BT Sport (UK and Ireland) and beIN SPORTS (France) have also renewed their partnerships with EPCR to broadcast the Champions Cup and the EPCR Challenge Cup.
Thanks to agreements with ITV, RTE and S4C in Great Britain and Ireland, as well as with France Télévisions in France, the EPCR tournaments will also be broadcast unencrypted to an even wider audience.
The Champions Cup and EPCR Challenge Cup will take place over eight weekends starting on Friday 9 December. The season will end with the 2023 Finals at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin and nearly 55,000 tickets have already been sold for this event next May.
