France > Women’s tennis trophies are back, will they crown Garcia?

After a period of “darkness” linked to Covid-19, the Women’s Tennis Trophies, of which We Love Tennis is a partner, are making a comeback this year.

The ceremony will take place Thursday evening at Roland‐Garros in the presence of the players and the president of the federation Gilles Morreton.

Eight prizes will be awarded.

We Love Tennis participated in the deliberations as a member of the jury regarding the prizes concerning the players. The other trophies rewarding the women’s tournaments ITF, WTA and the CNGT circuit.

For the players, here are the nominees.

  • Best performance of the year 2022

-Alize Cornet: 36th WTA, 14 Australian Open final (Halep victory), 1/8th Wimbledon final (Swiatek victory), 1 WTA final

-Caroline Garcia: 4th WTA, winner of the Masters + 3 WTA titles, 12 US OPEN final

-Harmony Tan: 147th WTA, 1/8th Wimbledon final with victory Serena Williams

  • Best WTA Progress 2022

-Selena Janicijevic: 182th WTA, 5 ITF titles, +429 places in 1 year (611 at the end of 2021)

-Leolia Jeanjean: 125th WTA, 3th Roland Garros tower (Pliskova victory), + 257 places in 1 year (385 at the end of 2021)

-Diane Parry: 76th WTA (58 WTA in Oct 2022), 3th Roland Garros and Wimbledon tour, +55 places in 1 year (113 at the end of 2021)

  • 2022 U18 Best Female Hope

-Sarah Iliev: 16 years old, 140th World Juniors (+142 places in 1 year), French champion 1516 years, 1 ITF final

-Jenny Lim: 17, 955th WTA, champion of France 1718 years, 1 ITF title (W15 Contamines Montjoie)

-Daphnee Mpetshi Perricard: 13 years old, 501th World Juniors, 1 ITF Junior title (J3 St Cyprien)
