Full house for Geldar who wins the CTG Handball Cup

The Koururian Geldar team hit hard on July 1 by winning the CTG Handball Cup for girls and boys. A great success for a club that is asserting itself in several disciplines.

The kourouciennes of Geldar were opposed to the AJSE and won 25 to 18 despite a formation largely diminished by numerous absences. For Benjamin Zulémaro, the Kourouciennes coach, the organization of the match added difficulties: “… the date of the final was not known, there was not all the squad, after the French championship, there were a lot of injuries… We integrated the youngest and they won and it’s great!”

The winners therefore had a check for 2500 euros and the girls of the AJSE obtained the sum of 1000 euros for their honorable place as finalists.

The boys themselves obtained a very good victory against the USL Montjoly team which did not make the weight. The match was systematically “folded” from the start of the second half. The defense was impenetrable and the Geldar U18 goalkeeper was imperial in his cage. The score at the end of the meeting was 31 to 24. Geldar captain Nathan Aristil did not hide his pleasure:“After losing this CTG cup in 2021, we were keen to win it this year with a young team. It’s a starting point for a generation that is thirsty for more…”

The club can count on a youth full of future.
