Golf: Louis and Benjamin Carayon make a performance in Fleurance

the essential
Beautiful day of competition and conviviality at the Lassalle golf course, despite the strong heat, thanks to Jérôme Lhospîtal.

A hot, hot Saturday… both for the weather and for the results, a new formula: the “rainbow” scramble, a buffet with grilled sausage at the start of hole n°5 set up by Jérôme and his team and a champion of 54 participants. In 18 holes, the rough goes to the team of Benjamin and Louis Carayon with a score of -9. An enormous performance which, in the memory of a Fleurantin player, would be the new scramble record. In net, Christian Valmary and Eric Marcassus achieve 48 points tied with the Carayon brothers. The third step of the podium is occupied by the team of Christian Lauray and Guillaume Cezerac with 46 points.

The results in 9 holes, it is the team of Constant and Thimothé Jacques who wins in gross by playing +2. It should be noted that our two golf directors who are more often on lawn mowers than with golf clubs in hand achieve a nice +3 and rank second. In net, the first team composed of Remo Mattiuzzo and Gérard Carrara improved their ability to score low with a very nice 22 points. The podium is completed by Philippe Marty and Patrick Dechamp who play 20. The 3rd place goes to the Jacques family, the first in gross.

All the players were rewarded with items bearing the “AS du Golf de Fleurance” logo. During this awards ceremony, the captain of the games Christian Lauray took the opportunity to revive the players in order to advance the club’s championship. Stéphane Renaud invited participants to register for the Espiaut trophy which will take place in September. Jérôme Lhospital was delighted with the great participation and the pleasure of sharing these moments of conviviality and sport with us. He presented the president and vice-president with a magnificent Basque beret in the colors of the café du Centre, who hastened to put it on.

Next competition: Saturday August 6 in stableford 9 and 18 holes.
