The Etangs de Fiac golf course is organizing an event on October 8 and 9 for the benefit of the sports and health association “Les Rubis de Lavaur”.
These two days are part of Pink October, an annual campaign led by the Ruban Rose association which raises awareness among the general public about screening for breast cancer, the leading cause of cancer death among women, and raise funds for medical and scientific research. At the Fiac golf course, it is for the Rubis that a whole series of events will take place. The Rubies are athletes who want to put cancer down by practicing the oval. Founded in November 2017 by the medical oncology team of the Rangueil hospital in Toulouse, the Lavaur club brings together women of all ages who all have one thing in common: having been carriers of gynecological cancer at some point in their life. Saturday 8 October, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., footgolf and rugbygolf workshops open to everyone. At 1.30 p.m.: fun 9-hole competition. At 3.30 p.m.: sports workshops. At 5 p.m.: presentation of the documentary film “Sports, the media journey of combatants”. At 6 p.m.: round table “The development of women’s sport”. A gala evening will close this first day with a presentation of the associations involved in the Pink October operation, cocktail reception and charity raffle. The next day, Sunday October 9, at 10 a.m., a foot race will take place. All morning will be given golf initiations as well as a rugbygolf workshop. At 12:30 p.m.: 18-hole golf competition. The initiations will resume from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The prize giving will take place at 5:30 p.m.
