A few days after falling in Nantes, Montpellier recovered on Friday by making Cesson-Rennes its first defeat. All beaten on the 1st day, Aix-en-Provence, Limoges and Nîmes chained a second consecutive success, in Sélestat, Istres and against Saint-Raphaël. Créteil picked up its first victory of the season, against Chartres.
Digested the defeat in Nantes. It took more than a setback in Loire-Atlantique (30-29), like the one recorded by the Héraultais during the second day of the championship, to paralyze Montpellier. The MHR perfectly exchanged their first game this season at home, Friday evening during the 3rd day of Liqui Moly Starligue, and immediately knew how to raise their heads after their poor performance at the “H”. Opposed to Cesson-Rennes, who had won their first two games, Montpellier returned to success, certainly not easily (24-20). With four points, the MHR remains in the lead. Aix-en-Provence, Limoges and Nîmes also pending the results.
First for Créteil
The three teams had received their title on a defeat. A failed but since forgotten start with a second success in a row for the Aixois as for the Limougeauds and the Nîmes, Friday respectively on the floor of the red lantern (three defeats in three games) Sélestat (29-26), at the front -last Istres (34-33) – three defeats in as many outings too – and against a beaten Saint-Raphaël side (35-30) for the second time in a row. Créteil, for its part, is no longer at a standstill. Friday, the Cristoliens signed their first victory this season by winning (40-38) against another poorly ranked (14th) Chartres.
