They had taken off for Poland on Saturday July 23, 2022, heading to Lodz, and returned a week later with a bronze medal European university handball championships. A great reward for the two sisters who had started handball in Marmande, Lalie and Cléo Séailles, as well as the 11 other Girondines from the university formed for the event.

Never let it down

Handball players from the University of Bordeaux winning their first three games in this championship. In their pool, they successively beat the Germans from the University of Bochum (41-21), then the Portuguese from Aveiro (39-18) and finally the English from Liverpool (55-7). Three wins in three days, and with a big goal difference each time. The Bordelaises touched their goal with their finger. And win continues in quarters : a victorious match (28-25) against the Poles despite the level having gone up a notch.

But the meeting against the Ukrainians in the semi-finals, on July 29, 2022, gave the girls a hard time. A defeat (30-44), which however will not have tainted their minds. During the small final against the Norwegians, the Girondines attacked and won (44-26). A great victory, again, which allows them to finish third in the European University Championship. A well-deserved bronze medal after an intense week of championships.
