Inès Laklalech, a golden champion

The Royal Moroccan Golf Federation celebrated our champion, Inès Laklalech, who won the Lacoste Ladies Open de France, a Ladies European Tour (LET) tournament which took place from September 15 to 17, 2022 on the Golf Barrier in Deauville (France).

The FRMG organized last Thursday at the headquarters of the FRMG a press briefing in the presence of the champion, her family and members of the Federal Bureau.

On behalf of the Federal Bureau, Mostafa Ezzine took the floor to congratulate Inès for being the first Arab-African player to win at a European First Division tournament.

Inès has managed to hoist the Moroccan flag to the highest level of the international golf scene and thus offers Morocco its first victory on a major tour.

Afterwards, Mostafa Ezzine read the message from FRMG President, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, who urged the entire golf family to make this victory the start of other successes.

The champion, Inès Laklalech, then took the floor to express her joy after this victory which constitutes one objective among many others.

During this tournament, she achieved a total score of -14 over three rounds (65-66-68) after a play-off against the English Meghan MacLaren.

She succeeds Céline Boutier (winner last year) in a prestigious list of players such as Nelly Korda, Cristie Kerr and Trish Johnson.

At the end of this exceptional season (4 top ten and a victory), Inès jumped to 14th rank of the Race To Costa Del Sol (official ranking of the LET) and becomes the 3th rookie of the season.

It should be noted that Inès Laklalech, aged 24, is a native of Casablanca and is part of the Cellule Excellence of the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation. She is, alongside Maha Haddioui, Lina Belmati, Malak Bouraeda and Intissar Rich, great hopes for Moroccan women’s golf.

These results confirm the new orientations of the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation inspired by His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid.
