John Huh wins championship reins at Wyndham

American John Huh leads the Wyndham Championship first round after returning 61 (-9) on Thursday.

John Huh, 248th player in the world, took control of the Wyndham Championship, paying for the North American PGA Tour, by providing a card of 61 (-9) which gives him a two-stroke lead over the competition, after the first round dispute on Thursday.

The 32-year-old American, looking for a second title after the Mayakoba Classic in 2012, had seven birdies and an eagle, without a bogey clerk to beat South Korean Sung-jae Im (-7), who he notably scored two eagles on the course at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina.

“I’m actually surprised to be at the top of the standings. I didn’t really feel like my game was there, but it was one of those days where I took advantage of a few good shots.”commented Huh, author of the best score of his career on a lap.
