The table tennis club of the Secular Center for Popular Education (FLEP) has paid a heavy price for the Covid crisis. The obligation of the health pass has in particular impacted the young players of the ping school who have ceased to participate. Among adults, particularly in leisure, the club has also suffered many defections. Sébastien, federal coach, also left the club for other sporting activities. Maurice replaces him after having followed the training of departmental table tennis animator. He also received the bronze medal from the Occitanie table tennis league for 20 years of voluntary commitment. Despite the defections, two teams are still in competition, one in regional 3, the two in departmental 2. They obtained good results over the last season, the A terminal 7° and ensuring its maintenance in R3, while the Two finishes 2° and reaches the Departmental division 1.
For this new season that is starting, training is currently taking place in 2 groups: Wednesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. for young people, from 6:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. for adults in competition and
Thursday September 22 and 29 then Friday from 7 to 8.30 p.m. from October 7 for the leisure group. When the heating of the multipurpose hall becomes necessary, these schedules are subject to change due to rising energy costs. Anyone interested in table tennis, young or old, can benefit from four free sessions before joining.
The library, whose access is free and open to all, is open the first Wednesday of the month from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. (above the town hall) and book deposits are available in the town halls of Lacabarède and Rouairoux . The painting section is dormant awaiting new members. Contact: 05 63 50 44 24
