An incredible and grotesque situation took place during a tennis match. A Novato man has been arrested on suspicion of molesting two children who interfered with his tennis game at Pioneer Park.
Police say Olaf Becker, 61, asked two children, aged 7 and 8, to stop throwing objects at the park’s tennis court while he was playing use.
Becker was arrested for child abuse and bodily harm to a child, and taken to Marin County Jail. One of the children was reportedly slightly injured.
Novato paramedics then examined them and then released them to their parents, according to Howard, the police lieutenant. Police also said Becker said he met the children, but denied hitting them.
The arrested man also said that the children threw wood chips and sticks on the tennis court several times while he was playing. He said he energetically grabbed one of the shirts from one of the kids.
He also assured that the problem was completely disproportionate. “For them, it was like they didn’t care, that they would try to go all the way, and obviously with no respect for adults,” explained Olaf Becker.
“Becker allegedly hit (bullets) at the two children, blessing one of them slightly,” police Lt. Michael Howard said. After that, the neighborhood intervened and Becker was able to return to the tennis courts.
US Open 2022: Will Novak Djokovic be present?
It would be very sad for tennis if the US Open finalist and winner of the last Slam could not play in the United States this year.
According to the incomprehensible health regulations currently in force in the United States, Novak Djokovic will not be able to try to win the US Open 2022. For the Serbian champion, it would be the second slam of the year, played on hard court, which he would miss due to compulsory vaccination, after the one in Melbourne.
Rafael Nadal, on the other hand, who has fully recovered from the abdominal injury, hopes to be there. The Spaniard hasn’t beaten the Serb on court since 2013. As we know, Roger Federer also plans to be at Flushing Meadows, after his return to the Laver Cup and the Swiss Indoor in Basel. Serena Williams is also expected to play at the US Open.
