Mirepoix. The first complete Ariège padel

After the tennis tournament which welcomed many participants from the four corners of Occitania, the Tennis club of Mirepoix (TCM) announces the reception of the end of works of the covered court and the padel, semi-covered and lit, with synthetic grass .

Derived from tennis, squash and badminton, padel is played exclusively in doubles, on a smaller court. Its biggest difference with tennis is that balls can be played after bouncing off glass or wire mesh, similar to squash. This new racket sport, coming straight from Mexico and opening up new sporting perspectives and incredible sensations, is booming in France.

To access the padel court, download the free Ten’up application and choose “Tennis club de Mirepoix”; or go on site, Nysades campsite, 05 61 60 28 63.

The TCM would like to thank the various partners who subsidized the equipment: the European Leader program (81,190 euros), the regional council of Occitanie (41,000 euros), the French tennis federation (39,000 euros) and the departmental council ( €13,127). The TCM borrowed 16,000 euros for the construction of the two structures. The association also thanks the town hall of Mirepoix for the human and material resources made available to complete this unique project in Ariège.

Registration for the 2022-2023 season will take place on Saturdays August 20 and 27 and September 3, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the club house. Tennis school lessons will begin on Wednesday September 7 with a new coach.

You will be able to obtain further information on the TCM stand during the Forum des associations which will be held on Saturday 10 September on the Place des Couverts.
