Montpellier Handball celebrates this year 40th anniversary. An event celebrates everything throughout the season starting with the last friendly match against Aix-en-Provence, Friday, September 2 at 8 p.m. IDF Stadium. For the occasion, Montpellier residents are invited to attend free to the meeting.
Match and meeting with the players
Before starting the championship with the reception of Nantes, on Sunday September 18 at 5 p.m., the MHB ends its summer preparation with a confrontation against Aix-en-Provence, 3rd in the previous exercise that Montpellier recently beat in the final of the Horizon 2024 tournament. Before the match, the 2022/2023 squad with all new signings will be presented to the public on the pitch.
After getting back into physical shape, notably through the traditional stadium in Les Carroz resort, Montpellier Handball resumed its friendly matches in early August with, as Patrice Canayer explained during the resumption, avoiding long trips.
It was therefore first in Agde, on August 4, that Montpellier perfectly handed over the warm-up blue against Istres by winning 31-21 then in Lodève on August 10 for a very solid opposition against Nîmes won 29-28 .
The series of victories continued this weekend during the Tournoi Horizon 2024 organized in Hazebrouck by the Handball league of Hauts de France. The Montpellier team had to go as far as penalties to beat Aix (28-24, 4-2) before winning the final against Dunkirk 28-18.
Before the last preparation match at the FDI Stadium, the MHB will participate on August 26 in the La Vie Claire tournament in Saint-Affrique with a meeting against Saint-Raphaël to hope to find Aix or Tremblay in the final.
From 6:30 p.m., the public will be able to share a drink and eat at the MHB Café, in its “Aux 2 étoiles” area and in the food trucks on the forecourt. Subscribers have an appointment at the same time at the Branko Karabatic lounge for a pre-match cocktail, also an opportunity to collect their 2022-2023 subscription card. And as soon as the match ends (around 9:30 p.m.), all the players will go to the MHB Café to share a moment of conviviality with the public and prolong this evening event.
> Practical: free admission and free seating within the limit of available places. It is advisable to come early to enjoy a friendly moment at the bars and foodtrucks of the MHB Café before the match and to choose your seat in the room.
