Longoria reacted to this controversy on Wednesday during his press conference to take stock of the situation at OM, on the sidelines of the presentation of the recruits. “There is a question in life: to make moral, popular judgments of a situation, what does it mean? I ask questions: ‘Is he doomed?’ Second question: ‘What exactly did he do?’ We’re guessing, right? In life, naturally, you have to have ethics, values, go towards things that are well done and straight“, declared the president of OM.

Longoria thus called on some of the Marseille supporters to show more restraint towards Veretout. “But popular judgment, on rumours… It’s a reflex of today’s life, social networks: they think like this, everyone must follow… Judging on an assumption… Is it fair? Is it morally acceptable? I’m asking you the question. You have to have a general reflection on this type of subject, and accept people. That’s my point of view“, concludes the boss of the Marseille club.
