After a first half dominated by New Zealand(13-340th)France revolts and returns to the game. This match switches to the tricolor camp in the 68th, while the tricolors are led (18-13)Frederick michalak pierces the opposing defense and sends Jauzion promise on earth” as will describe it at the microphone Thierry Gilardi. An action of anthology which puts France in front of (18-20) Corn which still remains attached to a forward. Indeed, before his breakthrough, michalak receives a pass from Damien Traille which is beautiful and well punishable. On the French side, no controversial, but the decision of wayne Barnes won’t go over to the Blacks. A few years later, in his biography, New Zealand coach Graham Henry even mentioned: “a pass so forward that the whole stadium saw it except for the referee”.

We are in the 78th minute of the game, the EScottish to manage 34-32 under the rain of Twickenhamand hold Well against the Wallabies. At the fallout of a ball, the XV du Chardon confuses. Craig Joubert does not hesitate: forward taken back in front, for Australia. A godsend for Bernard Foley who does not need to be asked to pass the three points and offer the semi-final to his family. A decision that will be debated. Looking closely at the action, we realize that after the fault of the hand of the Scottishan Australian hits the ball. 1.New Zealand – France, Auckland, October 23, 2011

In first place, therefore, one of the greatest traumas of French rugby. The 2011 world cup final. After a more than correct course, Marc’s troops Lievremont finds himself in the final in Auckland against the Blacks of McCawCarter… A dream poster which will turn to the advantage of the host country which will end up winning 8 to 7 in a padlocked match and oh how controversial. Indeed, after the meeting, the decisions of Craig Joubert will be questioned by the tricolor camp. The fault of many delicate situations not sanctioned by the South African referee. A data seems all the same equivocal. In the second half, France spent the majority of their time in the opposing camp, yet they did not collect any penalties. And even though many situations (off-side, rucks…) would have justified a whistle from Mr. Joubert, it will not be and the French players will return empty-handed. Hot, Dimitri Szarzewski gives the background of his thought: “When you are a top athlete, you want it to be fair. Tonight it was 16 to 15. We knew that Joubert was not going to let anything pass after the match Australia-New Zealand. He was cooler with them”. More than a decade later, the game remains open and Craig Joubert must still haunt certain nights of tricolor rugby.
