Rugby League, a family heritage at Nolan in Pennautier

Nolan Lopez-Buttignol now moves to Carcassonne XIII.

A young Pennautiérois, Nolan Lopez-Buttignol, 18, participated, on September 8, in the final of the European Under-19 Championship (U19) held at the Pasian Di Prato stadium, near Udine, Italy.

From the age of 5, Nolan joined the MJC became Carcassonne XIII up to the cadet category. In 2021, he became a junior and was selected for the France rugby league U19 team. At the beginning of September, the France team went to Italy to face England in the final. The French lost by two points (12 to 14) this final of the Euro U19 rugby league.

Rugby League is a real family passion. We remember the late Didier Buttignol, uncle of Nolan, former great player of Carcassonne and Albi in particular, who became an educator at the MJC Carcassonne and the ASC. He had identified him and trained him in the category of minions.

In this sport, Nolan finds a team spirit and transmitted values.

Having signed an elite team contract at Carcassonne XIII, Nolan is a junior who trains with team 1, under the leadership of his coach Frédéric Camel.

Nolan Lopez-Buttignol had this goal for a long time. Indeed, he had been in the rugby section sports class in college before joining the rugby league hopefuls pole at Sabatier high school, coached by Florent Tost. This allowed him to acquire the status of a top athlete.

At the same time, Nolan has just obtained his baccalaureate with honors and is taking BTS Public Works courses in Castelnaudary.
