The time has come for the resumption of the regional rugby championships and this Sunday, September 25, 2022, the SLR players will start their new regional 1 championship (ex Honor) at home against Yvetot. A big entry piece for Thomas Chouquard’s partners at Dujardin. The reserve opens hostilities from 1:30 p.m. against the Yvetot reserve.
After a magnificent season ended with the title of champion of honor promotion and victory in the regional final, the SLR will start this Sunday a new page of the club in regional 1, equivalent to the honor championship until the last season.
And the players of Youness Najm and Kévin Barbey will quickly get into the subject by receiving Yvetot, the ogre of this hen. If on paper the former Upper Normandy are favorites, the Lexovians, they could rely on the many supporters who accompanied and pushed the greens and blues last season. The task will be complicated and Kévin Barbey does not hide it: “We know that it will be complicated against the double defending champion and we expect a tough match against a team that is difficult to move” and continue “It’s up to us to put the ingredients together to look good at this level in region 1. Our objective is to maintain, on a level of departures and arrivals, on a homogeneous workforce which should enable us to fulfill the objective”.
Honfleur moves to Vernon
Like Lisieux, the Rugby Athlétique Club Honfleurais will return to competition in regional 3. Vincent Aranda’s players will start the season on Sunday with a trip to Vernon to face Stade Porte Normande Vernon. An opportunity for the Honfleur people to start the season without pressure and to pick up points away from home.
