Rugby. The death of Pierre Paul Biémouret, former third line of SU Agen and XV of France

A native of Mas-d’Auvignon, in the Gers, this force of nature spent most of his career at SU Agen (1965-1974). Crowned French champion with the SUA in 1966, Biémouret made his debut with the Blues in 1969 against England, alongside Benoît Dauga, who died three weeks ago, and Michel Hauser.

Third line combat wing, Biémouret had participated in the French team’s tour of South Africa in 1971. He had been one of the major players in the famous pitched battle of Durban against the Springboks. He played his last international match against Ireland in April 1973.
