Rugby . Why the National zaps TV and goes on the web

Hastily built on the wishes of Bernard Laporte at the end of the first confinement in 2020, the National continues to grow. At the start of the season, the media aspect of the third division is experiencing a boost: the French Rugby Federation has formalized an agreement relating to “the live broadcast and in full of [ce] federal championship bringing together 14 clubs which will compete for access to the professional championship of ProD2. »

The bet was won – “after a call for tenders”, specifies the FFR – by Sportall , a digital broadcaster which had already set foot in National last season with over-the-counter partnerships, at VRDR in particular. For the past year, the French streaming start-up born in 2019 has even developed a dedicated platform: It broadcasts, for example, the United Rugby Championship (ex-Celtic League to which the South African provinces have been added).
