Ovale Citoyen, which has been working since its creation in 2018 for the social inclusion of all individuals, was selected by the organizing committee of the France 2023 Rugby World Cup to carry out a strong action for professional integration with refugees, first-time new arrivals, beneficiaries of international, subsidiary or temporary protection in the 9 host cities of the France 2023 Rugby World Cup.
This is the first time that a major sporting event of this magnitude has offered a system in favor of the inclusion of this public.
The objective is to organize job dating from 2022 allowing them to apply for long-term jobs or training, made available by all the partner companies of the World Cup.
The organization of job dating
The partners of the France 2023 Rugby World Cup have a pool of job offers. Ovale citoyen communicates these to the territorial management of the OFII which, before the job dating, informs its partners and therefore the public potential. A list of candidates is thus drawn up. No need to establish a curriculum vitae, the objective is to rely on the skills of the candidate.
The big day of jobs dating
Before meeting a potential recruiter or trainer, candidates are invited, on a voluntary basis, to a little rugby match, which allows some to discover this sport and/or for others to get out of isolation.
In Marseille, at the beginning of July, more than 80 candidates moved to the GANAY forecourt of the Orange Vélodrome, sometimes accompanied by their social referent or their language training trainer, or through a network in the heat and a blazing sun. . Some still expressed themselves with great difficulty in French, but all were enthusiastic. The event around the oval ball brought together a mix of candidates, women were not left out even if few dared to enter the fray!
The OFII was able to meet and interview a few job seekers, including a Venezuelan refugee, with an unusual background, since a dentist in his country of origin, he was in the process of obtaining diploma equivalence, and while waiting to integrate in his university course next January, he would attend this event.
The meetings ended around 5 p.m., the OFII attended the interviews until the end. The candidates were offered a free ticket to attend a match that was taking place the same evening.
A Bordeaux, on the weekend of August 15, 40 beneficiaries of international protection were invited to the job dating organized out of two. 30 positions were offered, contracts of indefinite duration, govern or training. All in Bordeaux or nearby so that candidates can get to their place of work using easily accessible public transport.
In Nantesmore than a dozen candidates went to the esplanade des machines on the island of Nantes for an interview on August 7th.

Thanks to the mobilization of OFII regional offices, more than 260 people, 66% men and 34% women, refugees, international protection, subsidiary or temporary protection, were able to be seen in maintenance.
