EA Sports will no longer have FIFA but will console itself with La Liga. According The Partidazo from COPE, the American video game developer will attach its name to that of the Spanish Football Championship from the 2023-2024 season in a very interesting naming operation for the Spanish League from a financial point of view. While it currently receives 20 million euros per year from its sponsor, the Santander banking group, this sum should double to reach 40 million euros per year, for a period of 5 years.
Beyond the juicy financial operation, the agreement between La Liga and EA promises a series of initiatives “so that the fusion between interactive football and reality is total” to provide an immersive experience to players like to aficionados of the Spanish Championship. “It’s going to be a revolution, something we haven’t seen yet”assures a source close to the file to Mark, which confirms the information but communicated different figures: 30 million euros annually in addition to the 30 already paid under the sponsorship contract which already unites La Liga with EA. Javier Tebas, who has seen La Liga’s annual income from sponsors rise from 50 million euros in 2016 to 155 in 2022, can rub his hands.
