Strasbourg will host PSG at the Zénith, a first

The men of Denis Lathoud, residents of the second division, will challenge the tenants of the title on September 6 during the first round.

A gala match requires an adequate arena. On September 6, it is in the Zénith de Strasbourg that the local handball club will exceptionally receive the biggest French team of the moment, PSG, informed BFM Alsace this Wednesday. A first for a collective sport, in an enclosure dedicated to concerts.

This meeting will launch the Strasbourg Eurometropolis Handball season. It will count for the first round of the Coupe de France, a trophy won last year by PSG.

On paper, the duel looks unbalanced to say the least. With on the one hand the Alsatian club, resident of Proligue, the second division, whose last season ended in 13th place (out of 16) in the standings.

Parisians more than favorites

And on the other, the Parisian steamroller, eight-time reigning French champion, who managed to win the 30 league games he played last season.

For the men of Denis Lathoud, accustomed to playing in gymnasiums with a maximum of 1,500 seats, the party promises to be good whatever the final result. Carried by their public, will the Alsatians even be able to achieve a feat?

The Parisians will obviously not be of this opinion, they who intend to dominate the national scene again this year and qualify for the Final Four of the Champions League.
