This is a first for a Norman table tennis clubfor this new season, the club of Saint-Pierre-les-Elbeuf will field three teams in the professional championship, with two women’s teams entered in Pro A and Pro B and the first men’s team, promoted to Pro B.
With numbers a little turned upside down among the gentlemen, the two young Normans Thibault Poret and Martin Baechler will now be supported by two new recruits. The team welcomes the Mexican international and the 76th player in the world, Marcos Madrid who, after spending eight seasons at Caen TCC joined the Seine-Marine club, and the Greek Ioannis Vlotinos, n°157 in the French ranking.
Among the ladies, Stéphanie Loeuillette has joined the Pro A squad after a few months of absence after becoming a mother this summer and will play for the fourth season alongside Lucie Gauthier, n°33 in the French ranking, Jian Zeng, n° 9, and a new recruit, the Swedish Christina Kallberg, 30th French player.
Finally, the women’s reserve team, promoted to Pro B, will line up its oldest Sylvie Plaisant, multiple French champion in the veteran category, supported by the two young hopefuls from Normandy Jeanne Robbes, 16, and a new recruit, Nina Guo Zheng, 11. only years old and already 261st French player. The squad will be completed by the Dutch Tanja Helle, n° 130.
