Table tennis: Nîmes, and Vosges the galley!

Pro ladies / 1st day / This Tuesday evening, September 20, they fell at Etival… as usual.

In table tennis, as in many other disciplines, simply reading the final score can sometimes be misleading. This is exactly the feeling that emerged at the end of the curtain raiser of the Pro Ladies championship between Etival and the Alliance Nîmes / Montpellier.

The Vosgiennes, big favourites, had to work to defeat the Languedociennes once again. Visitors who would have something to feed some regrets, because they would have deserved to save the honor and to bring back at least one point from this long trip.

The sheet

Etival – Nimes-Montpellier: 3 – 0

This Tuesday evening in Etival (Vosges).

Match details:

J. Shao (n°8) – R. Moret (n°43) : 3-1 (12-10, 11-8, 7-11, 11-9). H. Matelova (n°1) – D. Trigolos (n°30) : 3-2 (6-11, 8-11, 11-8, 11-8, 11-8). Mr. Migot (n°26) – MH Jee (n°31) : 3-2 (11-9, 5-11, 11-9, 9-11, 11-7)

The Vosges coach had after this 3-0 that nothing had been easy: “The score is hard for an opponent who was difficult to maneuver with different styles of play. We expected this type of meeting against a great team which has strengthened”.

The Gard rookie from Belarus Daria Trigoles almost created the feat against the Czech ranked No. 1 in France Hana Matelova. Back to the wall with two sets behind, the Etival player found the resources to reverse the trend in a tense and undecided meeting to wish for and make the break.

Five sets won, in vain

Because just before, Jieni Shao had opened the Vosges counter, not without having battled against the most Nîmes of the Swiss, Rachel Morel. Finally, Marie Migot also needed five sets to overcome Min Hyung Jee, who simplified her but vainly hampered her with her speed of execution. And despite a good resistance, the Languedoc Alliance, as usual, fell at Etival. And Vosges the galley!

Promoted to Pro B, the men’s team of the Alliance Nîmes-Montpellier started with a bang this Tuesday evening in Tours, 3rd in the previous exercise: 3 wins to 0 signed by the Lebrun brothers (Alexis and Félix) and Grégoire Jean.
