The No. 1 seed Daniel Evans advanced to the semi-finals of the San Diego tournament, largely dominating Frenchman Constant Lestienne (6-1, 6-3) at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Friday in the evening.
Evans, ranked 25th in the ATP, will face American Marcos Giron, seeded No. 3 in the semifinals of the San Diego Open.
Before his success against Lestienne, 76th in the world at ATP, on Friday, Daniel Evans had won against the Japanese Taro Daniel (6-4, 6-4).
The French had won against the American wild card Brandon Holt (5-7, 7-6 6-3), and had beaten the Chilean Alejandro Tabilo, seeded n°6, without being worried about the score (6-1, 6-3).
