Tennis – ATP Montreal: Too tight physically, Rafael Nadal withdraws from the Canadian Masters 1000

Rafael Nadal draws a cross on Canada. In a message posted on social networks, the five-time champion of the Montreal tournament, diminished by an abdominal injury which had forced him to withdraw from the Wimbledon tournament just before his semi-final, formalized his package. He is replaced by Andy McDonald, 48th in the world, in the main draw.

Since my return to training, everything has been going well for the past few weeks.. Four days ago I also activated the service training and on Thursday I felt a little pain which was still there today (…) We decided not to travel to Montreal and to continue training without forcing. I sincerely thank the tournament director, Eugène (Lapierre) and his entire team for the understanding and support they have always shown me, and today was no exception..”
