Tennis in Villefranche-de-Rouergue: the competition is in full swing at the TCV

Sunday was the first day of the Challenge Mixte du Rouergue, an event created by the Tennis Club Villefranchois in 1984 and which is in its 38th edition, bringing together during this winter season some 25 teams from Aveyron, Lot and Cantal. Each club match includes 2 women’s singles, 2 men’s singles and a mixed doubles. The event this season includes 3 divisions, the TCV classified in division 1 and division 3.

For this start of the challenge, our team 2 welcomed a Lotoise team from the Caduran suburbs: Trespoux. 3 to 1 after the singles in favor of the Lotois. Victory of Frédéric TLILI in singles and success in doubles at the snatch of Josy Doucet and Frédéric Fourcade for a final result of 3/3.

At the same time, the men’s Villefranche 2 team played their last group match of the Thénégal challenge against the Pradines 1 team. Success in singles for Bruno MUNOZ and defeat for Camille ASTRUC and Mickael MAURS despite 2 very minor singles. Led 2-1 after the singles, the doubles team made up of Bruno and Mickael got the better of their opponents of the day to postpone the point of victory, final score 3 to 2 for the TCV. The team will therefore continue the adventure in the final phase as they finish first in their group.

Next weekend (November 26/27), continuation of the Challenge Mixte du Rouergue with 2 trips for the Villefranche teams to Rodez and Pont de Salars.

In Villefranche, this Saturday and Sunday on the courts of Laurière, a TMC will take place for 8/10 year olds where some of the best players in the region will be presented, as well as 2 Villefranchois (Nathan and Valentin). We could especially the children to come to attend these meetings in order to realize the level to which one can claim at this age.
