Tennis, WTA – Budapest 2022 tournament: Bondar out Zidansek

Hungary’s Anna Bondar, seeded No. 2, won two sets to one (6-4, 3-6, 6-1) against Slovenia’s Tamara Zidansek and qualified for the semi-finals of the tournament of Budapest on Thursday morning at the Római Tennis Academy in Budapest.

Bondar, ranked No. 52 in the WTA, will face the winner of the match between Dutchman Arantxa Rus and German qualifier Tamara Korpatsch in the Budapest Open semi-finals.

Zidansek, 100th player in the world at the WTA, had dominated the Hungarian wild card Fanny Stollar without being worried in the score (6-1, 7-5), and had eliminated the German Jule Niemeier (6-3, 7-6 [11]).
