Tennis, WTA – Budapest 2022 tournament: Tomova dominates Schmiedlova

Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova beat Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova unconcerned by the score (6-1, 7-5) and advanced to the semi-finals of the Budapest tournament at the Római Tennis Academy in Budapest on Thursday night session .

Tomova, ranked 109th in the WTA, will face the winner of the match between Frenchwoman Océane Dodin and American Lauren Davis in the semi-finals of the Hungarian tournament.

The Bulgarian had won against the Italian Jasmine Paolini, seeded n°3 (4-6, 6-0, 6-2), and needed three sets to dominate the Austrian Julia Grabher (3-6 , 6-1, 7-5), earlier in the tournament.

Schmiedlova, 122nd in the world at the WTA, had clearly dominated the Brazilian qualifier Carolina M. Alves (6-0, 6-3), and the Egyptian Mayar Sherif (6-3, 6-2).
