Tennis, WTA – Concord Tournament 2022: Townsend leaves Bonaventure

The American wild card Taylor Townsend reached the quarter-finals of the Concord tournament, beating the Belgian Ysaline Bonaventure in three sets (6-1, 4-6, 6-4) at the Thoreau Tennis club in Concord, Wednesday at early evening.

Townsend, ranked No. 246 in the WTA, will face the winner of the upcoming match against American qualifier Katrina Scott and Czech Karolina Muchova in the Concord Open quarter-finals.

During the previous round of the Massachusetts tournament, the American player had dominated the Swiss wild card Lulu Sun without being worried in the score (6-3, 6-0).

Bonaventure, 152nd player in the world at the WTA, won against the Russian Varvara Gracheva, seeded No. 3 (6-2, 7-5).
