Good news for the handball club du pays bellemois !
After a first inconclusive general meeting in Belleme (Orne) in July and an extraordinary general meeting on September 9, a President was found and the children could go play handball from Monday 19 September at the Belleme gymnasium.
After several years as president of the sports association, Stephane Mesnel had decided to leave office to spend more time on refereeing.
It is therefore Xavier Liotewho applied on Saturday September 10 to replace him.
A president who knew the job
“I have been a handball player since I was 7 years old, my wife has been working at Bellême college since 2020 and I arrived with the children in 2021 from 93”, says Xavier Lioté, school teacher. “My son plays with babyhand and I with Leisure and I was already the manager of the AS Bondy hand club”.
“I thought it was good that there was a club in Bellême and it was a shame that it was ending so I waited, I thought about it carefully, because I didn’t want to be a manager right away”, continues- he.
The elections for my old club fell in June 2021, right when I left, so I took a one-year break except that I needed to play and I headed to the Loisirs de Bellême.
Xavier Lioté knew what presidency of the association involved, the commitment it takes, even if it is a small club. He was unable to attend the assemblies and when it became clear that there was no way out, he proposed his name to the office.
“I didn’t want it to stop, for children and for sport,” adds the new president.
The members of the office are delighted to allow the club to continue to exist.
“It’s a year of transition, the goal is to stabilize the club and then we’ll see how to restart the machine so that it becomes more important,” concluded Xavier Lioté.
The workouts are therefore the Wednesday pay the baby and under 9 years oldsupervised by Séverine Mesnel, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The two categories will be separated.
Pour them under 11it’s the Thursday from 5 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. and for under 13the same day from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

For children under 15, there is an agreement with the clubs of Mortagne-au-Perche, Alençon, Sées and Bellême. The matches will take place on Saturday afternoon.
Contributions are 60 euros for Leisure, babyhand and children under 9, 65 euros for children under 11 and 75 euros for children under 13.
