The FFT committed against sexual violence

The French Tennis Federation organized, near the Roland-Garros Stadium, a conference on “reparation for victims of sexual violence”.

This initiative, introduced by Isabelle Demongeot, complements the daily work carried out by the FFT’s integrity unit, created in 2019, to facilitate the deployment of actions to prevent sexual violence as well as the collection and signal monitoring. “Because reparation begins with the recognition of the other and must continue, inexhaustibly, unfailingly, at all times and in all places, it is a question of continuing to free speech, but above all of ensuring that we are ready to welcome”explains Isabelle Rome, Minister for Equality between Women and Men, Diversity and Equal Opportunities. “It is also a question of exercising benevolent vigilance towards those around us on a daily basis. In sports or elsewhere. It also means having the courage to report reprehensible behavior or situations when you witness them. Finally, of course, it is the responsibility to accompany, guide and repair. »

The FFT committed to this theme

For Gilles Moretton, President of the French Tennis Federation, “In the fight against violence against women, it seemed important to us, a few days before the international day dedicated to it, to address the importance of reparation for it. (…) The French Tennis Federation has made these subjects of attacks and violence against or by actors in its ecosystem a priority. (…). It is by joining forces that we will have a better understanding of the mechanisms, situations, needs and that we will be more effective in this fight against sexual violence and to help the victims.(…) We collect and follow up reports, sometimes we even become civil parties. (…) What we can and must do: be able to support the aftermath as we work to support the release of speech. (…). »
