The holidays of Swiatek, Tsitsipas, Garcia and the others

It is obvious that the life of a professional tennis player is much more pleasant than that of an assembly line worker. We are talking about very clearly privileged people. However, their life is far from simple, despite rhinestones and sequins. The rigor necessary to maintain a physical and technical level is every second.

Be careful, it is not a question of pity them, but just to understand that their commitment is total, and that is tiring, exhausting, stressful, worrying. In short, not easy. This is why, when they have vacations, real ones, they are often called “dream”.

But not only. Yes, there are those who will sit on a deck chair by the water and laze like everyone else. But others choose different formulas.

Before our own holidays, here is a small sample of what the champions and champions are doing during this period of rest before attacking the physical preparation for 2023. That is to say at the beginning of December.

First of all, honor to Caroline Garcia. She thrilled us so much this year, thanks to a lot of hard work on her part, that she obviously deserved her trip to Bali. It’s downright a small photo album that she shared.

Aryna Sabalenka, Holger Rune, Iga Swiątek and Ugo Humbert are fans of “idleness” The Belarusian has chosen Miami as a vacation spot while the Runes – yes, the whole family left together – have settled in Dubai. As for Iga Swiatek, it was from the island of Anguilla, in the Caribbean, that she posted a message of thanks to the establishment, which had to give her a warm welcome. And for Ugo, it was in Mauritius that he recharged his batteries before starting his preparation for a 2023 season that we hope will be top flight for him.

Holidays are often associated with heat and the beach, but some do not hesitate to opt for the cold or even very cold option. This is the case of Grigor Dimitrov and Stefanos Tsitsipas. The first went to visit the very beautiful city of Annecy, while the Greek returned to Iceland. We remember a trip to the recent past for the world number 4. Obviously, the combination of great volcanic cold suits “Stef” well.

Holidays are also times when epicureans can indulge in their little pleasures and, as far as Jessica Pegula is concerned, she chose a stay in the Californian vineyards of Napa Valley. The world number 3 probably did not drink only “piquette”.

Finally, there is the formula of combining business with pleasure. If Carlos Alcaraz went to rest / train on the side of Tenerife, Rafael Nadal and Casper Ruud have meanwhile taken up residence temporarily in South America to play matches, probably bring back a nice jackpot and, why not, relax a little here and there. On the other hand, for total rest, they will come back.

As for the others, they are either still competing in the Davis Cup or have not yet left. Unless they have committed the crime of lèse-majesté not to communicate about their private life. Shame on them!
