The departmental committee of 64 brought together 66 clubs and 42 were represented. The assembly observed a time of silence in memory of the leaders who died during the year: Francis Bourlet (TC Piemont Oloronnais), Pascal Louis (Biarritz Olympique), Freddy Trouilhet (former president of TC Orthezien), Philippe Chaperon (Tennis Loisir Sempéré), elected and former president of CD 64.
The padel pleases
In his moral report, Jean-Yves Maisonnave underlined the good health of departmental tennis: 66 clubs and authorized structures, 10,480 licensees, an increase of 12.6%, with a strong development of padel. Élisabeth Bordaisco, Secretary General, and the heads of the commissions presented a rich activity report: 543 team registrations in the various championships, 1,443 registrations in the individual championship.
The department hosted the Davis Cup (France – Ecuador), two Téréga Open Pau-Pyrénées and the women’s Engie Open in Biarritz. The accounts presented by the general treasurer Jean-Michel Saint-Martin were unanimously approved after certification by the auditor. Christine Guillard (TC Assat Avenir) and Jean-Michel Saint-Martin (TC Sauvagnon) received medals (respectively bronze and silver) and the 2022 Mixed Autumn Cup trophies.
The President of the League concluded by recalling the aid to clubs via the sports development program and the formations lost by the League.
