The very nice gesture that Pique and Busquets are ready to do to help Barça

The two Barcelona veterans are ready to make a big effort to allow the club to regularize its economic situation and register its new recruits.

FC Barcelona has worked hard on this summer transfer window. The Catalans have notably extended Gavi, Araujo, Sergi Roberto and Dembélé in addition to enlisting Raphinha (58 million euros), Koundé (50 million euros), Robert Lewandowski (45 million euros), Franck Kessie (free ) and Andreas Christensen (free). In short, a total of 153 million euros spent by the Catalan club which could suggest that its economic worries are behind it. Not really.

Barça cannot yet register all their recruits due to too high a mass. According Mundo Deportivothe Catalan leaders would therefore have asked Busquets and Pique to agree to their salary and the two veterans say they are ready to make a financial effort to help their club.

Pique had already accepted a salary report last summer to allow the arrivals of Depay and Eric Garcia to be registered, but this time will have to accept a sharp drop in his salary.

Salary cuts for the two most iconic players alone may not be enough despite earning 600 million euros for Barca following partial sales of Barca Studios and part of its TV rights. The Catalan club could therefore be forced to find new sources of income to register all their recruits.
