Tiafoe out Van De Zandschulp

American Frances Tiafoe, seeded No. 10, reached the quarter-finals of the Washington tournament, dismissing Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp, seeded No. 8 (4-6, 6-2, 6- 3), Friday evening, at the Rock Creek Park Tennis Center in Washington. The match had been interrupted at one set everywhere by the rain.

Tiafoe, 27th in the world at the ATP, will face Australian Nick Kyrgios in the next round.

The American tennis player won against wild card Christopher Eubanks (6-3, 7-6 [2]), before his victory on Friday against Van De Zandschulp, 26th player in the world at the ATP. The Dutchman needed three sets to dominate Croatian qualifier Borna Gojo (7-6 [6]6-7 [5]6-4).
