Villeneuve-sur-Lot. Table tennis: the PPCV must raise its head

After a very good start to the season, the PPCV is marking time a little at the end of the year with two defeats in a row in Lille (2-3) and most recently in front of Argentan (2-3). Admittedly, Marc David’s club is still in the nails to contest the play-offs, currently occupying 7th place overall with one game less, but it has to react. And he will have the opportunity to do so this week with two meetings in the space of 4 days, a trip this Tuesday evening to Miramas and the reception of Nice on Friday. First meeting therefore with the Miramasséens, a formation that we currently find rather at the bottom of the table and which has won only one match this season in front of Tours (3-1). A trap match par excellence for the players of Admir Duranspahic who have been losing momentum for a few weeks and who will need to reassure themselves, to regain their confidence during this trip to the Bouches du Rhône. Beware, however, of this opponent who is very difficult to maneuver in his room and who should present a fairly homogeneous group with the presence of Paul Lavergne, Dorian Zheng and Junge Zheng. Three table tennis players who are not at all clumsy behind a table and who can cause serious problems for Villeneuvois. Especially if Olajide Omotayo, Jules Cavaillé and Amin Ahmadian don’t play at their best level and don’t take the match on their own. Which was a bit the case during the last outing in front of Argentan with a PPCV which perhaps lacked a bit of character and mentality to get the 3 points. Character, it will certainly be necessary for Miramas to get the machine back on the road, to reconnect with victory and to welcome Nice at the end of the week with even more serenity.
