On behalf of the 4th match of the first day of the Nations Cup zone 3 volleyball, the Volleyball Stallions of Burkina Faso were facing their counterparts of the Volleyball Squirrels of Benin. A hard-fought match that turned to the advantage of Benin (3-1).
And yet, it was the Burkinabè who announced the color by logically winning the first set (25-19). This, after taking advantage of service errors and the lack of concentration of the Beninese.
But like a diesel motorcycle, the troop of the duo of trainer Franck Lokonon and Jawal Tabé changed tactics of play in effective on the running compressor of the team. Ideal and favorable moment for the Beninese to set the record straight during the second Set (25-17). The third set was more complicated but the selflessness and determination of the Volleyball Squirrels took precedence over their opponents who saw the damage (25-21). The final set was more complicated for Tobby Tohouegnon and his partners who dropped points, restoring confidence to the Burkinabè. But fortunately for the Beninese who had on the bench, technicians who read the game. And the last instructions were beneficial to the Beninese selection which won the match in pain (25-23).
Benin therefore begins the competition with a success, 3-1 (19-25; 25-17; 25-21; 25-23). But the joy will be short-lived as all eyes are on the opener against hosts Ivory Coast. It will be this Friday, August 05, 2022, at the Palais des sports in Treichville. A victory will definitely ensure qualification for the semi-finals.
